A Culture of Caring

We are proud that the values reflected by our ESG program have been organic within Inspirato’s company culture since our founding over a decade ago.

Over that time, we have established “a culture of caring” as a key organizational value. This mindset informs every decision and interaction we execute as a business, driving operational competencies that create value for our stakeholders. It also serves as a constant reminder to strive to do our part as an active, inclusive participant in the lives of our employees, subscribers, partners, and the communities where we operate.

We operate our ESG program within a framework of four core values, overseen by an executive-level Steering Committee, an employee-led 501(c)3 foundation, and a variety of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

Our ESG Steering Committee

Our ESG program is guided by a cross-functional internal Steering Committee of senior leaders, working within a framework of four core values. Led by our ESG Manager, it includes our Board Chairman, General Counsel, Executive Vice President of Marketing, and Senior Vice President of People Operations. The Committee’s purpose is to identify ESG priorities, listen to and support our employees and other stakeholders, empower them to execute initiatives within our organization and communities, and provide updates to our Board of Directors.

Sustainability

As a leader in the luxury vacation industry, we are aware of the impact that travel has on the environment. Inspirato is committed to better protecting the environment and our planet however we can. Our efforts are spearheaded by IN Terra, our Environmental & Sustainability ERG.

IN Terra’s mission is to raise awareness about Inspirato’s environmental impact as a global business. We strive to educate and affect change on the individual, local, and global scale to align with the eco-travel and sustainability standards. We pledge to make a difference in our corporate headquarters in Denver, Colorado and in the various destinations where we operate.

Our current sustainability-focused initiatives include:

  • All employees enjoy a hybrid work policy that helps reduce the carbon footprint of our team’s collective commute.
  • All employees have access to flexible, pre-tax spending accounts that encourage the use of public transportation.
  • We offer our Choice Housekeeping program in many destinations, giving members the option to reduce daily housekeeping and towels and linen use.
  • We promote and practice recycling, composting, and e-waste collection at our Denver office.

Our roadmap for future sustainability-focused initiatives includes:

  • Deploying bulk containers for consumable products across more of our destinations to combat waste production associated with single-use items.
  • Increasing the use of less toxic, environmentally friendly products in our housekeeping service.
  • Working towards eliminating single-use plastics/products from our properties by offering refillable and non-plastics options instead.
  • Supporting local environmental and social organizations in each of our 90+ destinations by allowing our members to donate directly to selected causes during their stays.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Inspirato, our employees are the cornerstone of our brand promise. We are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all we do—in our workplace, our business initiatives, our marketing, and the causes we support. We know the more inclusive we are, the more successful we can be.

Our DEI initiatives are coordinated by the Inspirato DEI Committee, an employee-led group which supports the Company’s DEI mission statement. Our current DEI-focused initiatives include:

Diversity Among Employees
We understand the importance of a diverse workforce and strive to attract and retain a wide range of individuals with different characteristics. Our efforts around diversity result in a more inclusive, engaged, and creative workforce and organization.

Modified Educational Requirements
We recognize that relevant travel experience is often commensurate with the typical requirement of a college degree for certain roles. As a result, we have welcomed amazing talent to Inspirato that we wouldn’t otherwise have had access to, while providing people that have not yet pursued a college education with an opportunity to join our team.

Equal Pay
At Inspirato employees are paid based on their role and reflective of compensation decisions that are made fairly, based on performance, proficiency, scope of work, prior experience and competitive market indicators, regardless of their gender identity.

Inspirato Colorado Open Sponsorship
In 2022, Inspirato became the title sponsor of the Colorado Open Championships, the premier state open golf event in the nation. Under our groundbreaking sponsorship, we made history by enabling the Open to offer the largest purses of any state open in the country and establishing it as the first state open to offer equal purses for both the men’s and women’s championships. In doing so, Inspirato also became the largest annual donor to the First Tee - Green Valley Ranch program in Colorado, supporting its mission of using golf to teach life skills to young people throughout the Denver and Colorado communities.

Employee Resource Groups
Our Inspirato DEI Committee sponsors and supports several Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) including:

IN Black
IN Black is an Employee Resource Group for Black employees and their allies. It aims to create a safe space for conversations around race and how it relates to Inspirato and American corporate culture. Sharing experiences and focusing on education, empathy, compassion and a better understanding of our unconscious biases, differences, and our similarities.

Women of Inspirato “WIN”
Cultivates a community of women in the workplace, providing programming and resources on topics impacting and on the minds of women and for the allies who support them.

IN The Village
IN The Village supports employees and their families with a focus on life balance, mental health and general wellbeing. Each month this ERG offers a topic for employees to participate in a discussion around a contemporary matter reminding them of the importance of taking care of themselves and their families and maintaining a healthy life balance.

Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders (AAPI)
In May of 2022 we are proud to say our latest ERG “AAPI” formed. While this ERG is relatively new, it has the advantage of following in the footsteps, learning from the best practices or our employee-led ERGs that started before them.

Inspirato Pride
Inspirato Pride celebrates and supports our LGBTQIA+ community, aiming to create a space for employees and allies to connect through shared experiences and foster an inclusive workplace culture that is supportive for all LGBTQIA+ persons at Inspirato.

In Our Hometown

We are a proud member of the Downtown Denver Partnership. All Inspirato employees are eligible to receive DDP member benefits, including the ability to participate in Civic Leadership Programs, serve on Councils, and attend DDP events.

We are actively involved with the Denver Center City Collaborative as a member of their Steering Committee. The Center City Collaborative is a coalition of civic-minded, business and community leaders from organizations representing people living, working and experiencing downtown focused on a common goal of revitalizing our city center while improving the cleanliness and safety of downtown Denver

We are in the process of formally partnering with impactful social and environmental organizations in each of our key destinations. Our goal is to ensure that Inspirato is doing our part to positively impact change in the areas our members love, and that many of our wonderful staff call home.

Governance

Inspirato’s purpose is to contribute to the wellbeing of our employees, subscribers, partners, the communities where we operate, and our shareholders. We believe that by upholding the highest professional and ethical standards in our business practices, we create value for all our stakeholders.

Inspirato’s corporate governance is ultimately overseen by the company’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Beyond complying with laws and regulatory requirements in jurisdictions where we operate, Inspirato strives to be a leader by supporting and adopting industry best practices. In addition to our Audit Committee, Inspirato’s Legal, Risk Management, and ESG teams collaborate to ensure we maintain a “no surprises” philosophy and are well positioned to respond to the changing business and regulatory environments.

In 2017, long before Inspirato embarked on the journey to go public, we saw the importance of investing in a confidential, third-party, employee hotline to support our transparent culture as the company continued to grow. Since going public we expanded that hotline to include a portal for external stakeholders.

The Inspirato Foundation

The Inspirato Foundation, originally formed in 2018 as a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, today is an employee-led organization with a cross-departmental Board of Directors that oversees and organizes Inspirato’s charitable donations, initiatives, and partnerships. The Foundation operates in accordance with four core values:

  • Integrity: Carry out thoughtful charitable work, while maintaining a fair approach
  • Innovation: Consider all ideas to encourage and support innovative thinking
  • Impact: Ensure we are delivering maximum impact for donors and recipients alike
  • Transparency: Pro-actively share information about the Foundation’s charitable contributions and impact

In 2020, The Inspirato Foundation created The Inspirato Fund to enable employees to voluntarily donate to the Fund automatically with each paycheck. The Fund is available to Inspirato staff that face hardship or find themselves in need of financial assistance. All disbursements from the Fund must meet a set of criteria and are overseen by the Foundation’s Board.

Through the Foundation, Inspirato has partnered with and supported a wide variety of organizations.

Events and Celebrations

 

Inspirato employees regularly organize events and celebrations to highlight our inclusive community, both within and outside our office in Denver.

Juneteenth Celebration hosted by IN Black
IN Black hosted Juneteenth at Inspirato on Thursday, June 16th. A few Inspirato employees spoke on the importance of Juneteenth, ways to support black owned businesses & organizations, and ways to celebrate Juneteenth outside of the office.

Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration hosted by AAPI ERG
An internal panel of employees discussed their backgrounds and what AAPI Heritage month means to them.

Networking Event hosted by Women of Inspirato "WIN"
The WIN ERG hosted a "speed-networking" event where members and allies came together at Blanchard Family Wines for a fun evening of casually getting to know each other in a manner similar to "speed-dating".

Ultimate PRIDE Trivia! hosted by the DEI Committee
In this virtual event, employees participated in an interactive trivia session focused on LGBTQIA+ terminology, history & rights, and allyship.
